Spring rain, fall leaves and winter slush all end up in the same place: the floor of your truck. A good set of mats keeps the mess on the mat and off the carpet.
- Get the fit right. Mats made for your year, make and model cover the floor and run up the sides. Universal mats are easy to find but leave gaps where mud collects.
- Look for raised edges. A tall lip around the mat holds melted snow and water until you can dump it out.
- Check the channels. Grooves move water away from your heels and help boots grip.
- Use the hooks. Most vehicles have retention hooks or posts in the floor. A mat that locks onto them stays put and does not slide under the pedals. Never stack a new mat on top of an old one.
- Cover the back too. Kids and dogs bring in as much mud as the driver does. A rear mat that runs across the middle hump is easier to clean than two separate pieces.
- Add a cargo liner. If you haul sports bags, firewood or groceries, a liner in the back saves that carpet as well.
- Clean them the easy way. Pull them out, knock off the dirt, rinse with water and mild soap, and let them dry before you put them back. Skip shiny sprays on the top side because they make mats slippery underfoot.
Send us your year, make, model and trim, and we will help you find mats that fit.
